I'd almost forgotten about the fires. Have those been a continuous problem this whole time?!?

They lasted for 35 days, but were over by the middle of February. Over 1,000,000 hectares in Eastern Victoria alone were burnt. No lives lost remarkably.

Just need the rain to make the grass grow a little... we are still in the middle of a very bad drought. Our water reserves are down to 42%.

I guess it is part of the natural cycle for vegetation to burn to make room for new growth. I'm glad to hear that no one was hurt.

The no lives lost comment I presume refers to Victoria only. At least 4 people in Canberra died. Maybe more ... struggling to remember now.

Yep sorry, I was referring to Victoria. Although the Victorian fires were huge and very bad, the Canberra fire was more like a fireball that ripped through the city.

I usually try to avoid those threads until I have seen the episodes themselves.

And don't worry, I generally like all Trek too :D

If they are started by me, you won't find more than the regular listing you would find in the TV Guide, along with a general (no spoiler) comment from me...in the first post. Beyond that I can't vouch for who will first break the ice (which is, of course, expected.) I usually jump in a bit later on again with more comments (after viewing it a second time a few days later when it is rerun...unless a bunch of people have crippled the discussion by bleating out the regular B&B hatred that sometimes erupts.

Tell me about it. It surprises me how much people complain. Why don't they just stop watching?
