I’ve just finished reading the 3rd volume (part 2) of ‘Song of Ice and Fire’ and realised that I’d broken one of my cardinal rules: starting to read a series before the author had finished writing it. Foolish me though it was a 4 book series. When does the next book come out? I’m addicted now.

As an aside (b/c I love asides) [start rant] what is the deal these days with having book 3 part I and book 3 part II. They are two books! What’s wrong with book 3 and book 4? [/rant]

It is, apparently, one book. In some places though, they split the book in two because it was too large to put into one volume.
