Did you get many eggs?

Anyone, what I was thinking was this. An article each issue detailing stats for common members of a certain society. For instance, a human society: A basic human cutpurse, a guardsman, a bandit, a merchant, an innkeeper...

For say elves, it would be a scout, a forester, a wizard, etc.

No eggs. Actually, this is the first time in 27 years I did not get an Easter basket from my mom. Course, I really don't eat chocolate often, but still. :(

My easter was basically watching Helen of Troy on USA which was pretty cool. It even had a dire flail!

The article could be useful Ek. To me it needs some hook though. Not sure what. Maybe the write ups could include tactics? Say for the cutpurse. You describe a small gang of thieves, including stats. These guys are nameless since they are supposed to just be a generic gang. You have a cutpurse, a pickpocket (different from the cutpurse in that he does not let the mark know he's there), a conman, the muscle, a beggar, and their face, probably even their fence. Then you have a section on how they operate, what kind of marks they pick, and how they go about the job.

I'm not a good gauge of the masses... It would have appeal to me. I rarely use monsters, instead relying almost exclusivly on leveld humans, and other intelligent species. This would supply two useful things. 1) Ready made NPCs that can be easily placed into any game 2) Suggested implementation of those NPCs, not done in the same manner as an ecounter exactly, but an event.

Its an idea that could be very useful, and could be expanded into a regular feature.

I was hoping it would be popular enough to be regular in the product.

EK: I like the idea of adding tactics to the NPCs. It would really help a lot with city/town encounters. Especially if you added the three-man filching scams in game terms (You know, the stuff like one guy pretending to drop something, and bending over in front of the prey, while another bumps the prey from behind, sending him falling over the first. Then the third helps the man up while pickpocketing him, and the one on the ground cuts his purse).

Stuff like that :)

Hey, Hive. Just here for a little while. A Wacom Intuos drawing tablet worth the money for a scribbler like me?
