Working on an essay relating John Steinbeck's A Russian Journal to his ridiculously long East of Eden. It doesn't need to be done for another day, but I've taken a vow not to go to sleep until it's finished, because I really don't want to go through the agony of waking up at 7 AM after having gone to sleep at 5 AM.

Ooh, fun. I'd like to suggest fun things for you to keep yourself occupied, but I'm not sure of what to do either, I'm pretty bored right now.

Yuck, I hate only getting an hour or two of sleep and then having to get up. Actually hurts sometimes.

Yes, gruesome things happen to me when I've gone without sleep for 20+ hours and then try to get up after 2 hours or less. I'll spare the details, but it's definitely in the category of 'actually hurts.'

I figure that if I can suffer through tonight I can be much happier tomorrow. We'll see if my willpower fails me or not.
