[Edit] Bebo - it's not so much about being "a noob." Certain functions - searching, private messaging, a few others - tax the server more than others. So they're disabled, by and large. By donating - I think it's $20, but I'm not sure - to the site, you become a Community Supporter, and can access them. (You also get a cool title, if you can think of one!)

No. You don't have to pay money. For anything. But keeping this server up costs Morrus money (I'm going to wager he doesn't have as much as K-mart) and a donation helps keep it afloat, so that it's not all out of his pocket.

yep. The Community Supporter abilities are a good thing, which I will gladly pay for as soon as I have employment. You can function well enough without them, though.
