I won't argue that, but I enjoy being paid to read them far more than I enjoyed being paid to write them.

How is it you can grade papers and not review things? They are very similar.

Similar, but not the same. The main point is, as I see it, that I don't like trashing things in reviews. I see it as showing the good and the bad of a project to inform the consumer, not tell the creator how to do their job.

Because of the amount of time I spend proofing, editing, rewriting and marking, I tend to focus on where things go wrong a lot more than where they're going right. It makes it hard to play up the good points in a review.

(And I won't admit to being a good marker either. I still think of myself as a crap academic )
