Wow.. I had forgotten about HOL entirely. I have not played this game it at least 10 years. I remember spending hours with the character generation charts... You gotta love a game where the main character generation tool is referred to (iirc) as the "Chart Chart".

Man... that game was great. Mind you.. I am not sure we every actually played it.

HOL was great fun (plus we also had the Buttery Wholesomeness supplement). I think we spent 6 hours generating characters and 1 hour playing but that's not the point. The point is that I made a self-regenerating warbot with big frickin' guns!

Definitely the most entertaining rulebooks to read, either way.

I enjoyed playing The Man with No Nām. He had a couple of interesting stuff going on. His best ability was Make an Entrance and he had a horse - The Horse with No Nām.

Interestingly it's pronounced Hole. The macron on the vowels is in place of an 'e' at the end of the word. At least that's my theory. Which is mine.
