Hold Monster + Coup de Grace

Hi folks,

I don't have my Pathfinder PDF here at work and one question just popped up: how does Pathfinder deals with the Hold Monster + Coup de Grace situation?

Or it doesn't?

Alpha release does not seem to. I'm of the opinion the Hold spells should inflict "Grappled" & "Entangled" like conditions, not "Kill me before i break free" paralysis. {I'd recommend breaking out after a failed save still leaves entangled effect for the spells duration.]

That would leave you "held" but still able to attack or cast spells. I'd rather say the dazed or stunned contitions would be more fitting.

It doesn't.

That is standard adventuring manuever. Page 239 (page where Hold person is + other hold spells are based on Hold Person) says paralyzed.

I don't think anyone has ever complained abiout Hold spells before to Paizo so I'm not surprised it was never changed.
