Holograms are here!

Some full 3D projection schemes have been demonstrated, but the downside is that the laser brightness is usually up in the blindness-hazard or even burn-hazard range.
I can think of several things they might be doing here, thermal turbulence generation, ozone generation, maybe playing with non-linear optical properties of the air, but they all give me bad product liability vibes.
I think digital holography is probably going to beat out the death-ray projectors in the long run, though maybe they do have something safe and cheap enough to be practical.

HOLODECK!HOLODECK!HOLODECK!
HOLODECK!HOLODECK!HOLODECK!

Anyone recognize this quote?
"Here, even a holographic bullet can kill."

I know everyone's been thinking it but no one's said it yet. The porno industry is going to skyrocket. Yes indeedy.

It wont be too long before there's holographic video-games, and all that good stuff. Imagine playing Quake 3 in a holographic environment. SWEETNESS! :D :p :D :p :D :p :D

Edit: I hate overlong lines. :p

Okay, I know what they're saying here, but I'm an old woman who was born in the 70's... How many people today really know just how big a bread box is?

Hang on there, missy; I own and use a bread box! Nyah!

I KNOW I'm getting old when people born in the 70s refer to themselves as old! :D

Oh...and I want one, too. Just for the record.

Ok, this is just cool.

Oh, I grew up in a household that used a breadbox, and i'm only 23. I totally missed the 70's. So while they might not enjoy the popularity they once had, there seems to still be a strong bread box subculture existant in our modern world. :P
