Holy Crap! It's Almost here! I've got to PACK!!

Yes folks. It's that time of year again.

After the talking, the Horror of Room Reservation - and the Greater Horror of the Reservation Reset, event tickets misprints, accidental Will Call mail-outs...

It's here. In fact, one week from now, Gencon will be in full flight, in all of its manifest glory. One week from now - I'm in a hallway in the Indy Con Center pointing in a circle of people outing them as a Werewolf.

How close is it? Well tonight, I suddenly realized I have to put some of my boardgames to bring with me in some plastic boxes, and began to do just that.

Never mind "soon". It's packing time folks. We're almost there!

Anyone else pumped?

You are very lucky. I couldn't plan a trip this year, since I knew I'd be going unemployed at the start of March. :\

Most of my gamer buddies are married, so they may not be up for it next year - but I'm definitely going to Winter Fantasy or Gencon. And if none of my friends are going, then I guess it's time to take full advantage of the DM volunteer program :)

Have fun!

And why aren't they married to gamers? Kids today with their lack of foresight.

Anydangway, I'm getting packed as we speak; though I don't have very far to go (the drive's only like an hour and a half from here), I'm still rechecking my car every day.

I'm as pumped as punch, assuming that my Will Call badge isn't at my old address. Still gotta call the land-lord about that.

I'm not going (Australia is a bit of a trip away!) but I'm definitely looking forward to what announcements (if any) are made at Gen Con. I imagine that the boards will be very quiet with so many regulars attending.

On the other hand, if a big announcement is made, the boards will probably be a hive of activity as everyone discusses the announcement and what it means for the future.

Hopefully a few of the regulars will be able to squeeze a few moments in to post to the boards as the great untravelled contingent's on-the-spot reporters. :)

"The Great Untravelled" ;)

Well - looks like we'll be getting into Indy a day early on Tuesday night. I'm attending as an exhibitor this year at the Atari booth - but right now, it looks like the Slaadi are in charge and Maximum Entropy is near.

So I will have a chance to make a few reports at least.

Yes, my gamers. Come! Come to my city! Roll the dice! Wear your costumes and walk Monument Circle! Transform the Ram into a gamer's paradise where I can both drink beer AND geek out!

I want to see Storm Troopers at Steak N' Shake!
I want to see Klingons at the Slippery Noodle!
I want to see thousands of black-shirted gamers sweating in the humid Indiana August weather!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh man, I can't wait.

I am excited but am going to be really busy. I volunteered to mix drinks for two parties at the con and I know myself well enough to realize those are going to be rough mornings the days after.
