I'm A Banana
Potassium-Rich
Here's the dilly.
I'm playing a dragoon, though the class isn't entirely the point. This is at 4th level, FYI.
What is the point?
Lessee....7 ranks in the Jump skill...an 18 strength adds +4....so we've got Jump +11...reasonable.
Then add on some magic items...
Boots of Striding and Springing = Jump +21
Ring of Jumping = Jump +51 (!)
That's right. Jump +51....at 4th level!
And I haven't even tried to take Skill Focus yet!
He's wearing a breastplate, and with the boots that gives him a speed of 40 ft. So, lessee, that's a hieght, from a high jump, standing in place (assuming an 'average' roll of 10-11) of 8 feet....add on the extra 1/3rd for having a higher speed..that's 10 feet.
This is 10 feet, just as a straight up hop!
Now, if I was going to be munchy (which is a fairly safe assumption.
), and max out my damage potential with this guy...
Running high jump 'average' height: 15 feet, in the air. Add the extra 1/3rd for having a higher speed...20 feet.
That adds, at 4th level, a good 3d6 (sometimes 4d6 with a good roll) onto the damage this guy can do with a charge attack (roughly 2d10). 2d10+3d6 at 4th level...that's pretty frickin' good.
So...any advice for me ranking up this Jump skill?
Take a look at the class, since that's where a lot of the damage bonuses, etc. are coming from (being able to jump in armor, etc).
I'm fully impressed, here. But I think I can milk another few d6 damage outta the guy.
Help me munchkinize the JUMP skill!
