Holy frickin' crap! (Just got Menace Manual)

Biohazard

First Post
I don't mean to sound like a fanboy or anything, but my copy of the Menace Manual just came in the mail, and man, it truly does rock. Superb artwork and a nice array of monsters/NPCs/organizations/etc.

Some favourites:

Bogeyman template
Chemical golem
Crawfordsville Monster
Doom Hag
Spider Fiend (Kwevencha)
Infester
Jynx
Litter Brute (very Stephen King-ish)
Night Terror (very Tim Burton + Silent Hill-ish)
Skin Feaster
Star Doppelganger (John Carpenter's THE THING! Wheeeee! :D )
Toxic Sludge

My only real gripe is the cover art--rather bland. I would have liked to see some of the monster illustrations used instead of three generic PCs. But that's minor. Awesome book.

It seems to be that this book is a good sign of how d20 Modern is finally shedding the D&D influence and developing its own identity. OTOH, I have no problem with D&D influence if it works--if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and all that.

No, there's nothing fanboy about it. I have an active and deep hatred for WotC (after the crap they've been pulling for the past year or so)...but I have to give them props for the kick-butt MenMan. It is a great book!

Personally, I was far more excited about the presence of three of the core Alternity species, the Fraal, Sesheyan, and Weren (look under Sasquatch).
