Holy Symbols for a new made religion

Sir Elton

First Post
I recreated a version of an old favorite new made religion from the Complete Priest's Handbook called The Divinity of Man or The Divine Man. 2nd Editioners who have a copy of this book would probably remember that this religion is based on a philosophy that teaches Man Himself is nearly Divine.

Since I used GURPS Religion to help flesh this religion out, I thought it would be cool to create a Schism in the past of this religion. ( ) You can't beat schisms.

The basic belief is that Mankind himself is nearly a divine being, a divine creation, since Mankind was created first before the Elves, Halflings, Orcs, what have you. The schism, of course, was over a disagreement on the status of the Human Body and Material Things. The Philosophy is also Dualistic in nature: there is an Ultimate Good God and a Sneaky Evil God.

So there are two Sects of this religion that exists in my campaign: The Gnostics and the Naturalists. The Gnostics believe that the material, natural body is an evil creation; and that the Divine is inheritantly Spiritual. So those of the Gnostic Sect does their bloody best to control these urges through strict Monasticism. They don't allow any competitive sports, Art has to be abstract, the diet is restricted, and the naked body is regarded as shameful. :]

The Naturalists believe that the Body is a good creation in the image of the Creator (the Ultimate Good God). They believe that the Divine is inheritantly Physical. As a result, those of the Naturalist sect often runs around
"clad in the sky" all the time (i.e. naked). The Naturalists encourage competitive sports, Art is encouraged to be realistic, their diet is a moderate diet, and the naked body is regarded as glorious. :D

My problem is that I can't find the holy symbols I'd like for both sects. Does any body have any suggestions of Specific Clip Art I can use?

For the Gnostics, I'd suggest something like a face with "beams or rays of light" eminating from it, suggesting the spiritual element of man.

For the Naturalists, something like De Vinci's man? Showcasing the physical body rather than the spiritual.

Just a couple ideas.

Good luck.

Have you tried Arcady's website? :p

Gnostics:
A sillouette of a human in black, with a pure white circle inside of it (located at the heart or the head, wherever your guys think the soul resides). This symbolizes the empty death of the flesh, and the purity of the soul.

Naturalists:
A sillouette of a human in white, with a pure black circle inside of it. This represents the purity of the flesh, with the hollow emptiness of nothing within.
