Homebrew Module review process or interest?

First Post
Hello all.

I just finished writing up a 300 page adventure! (Whew!)

But here is the point. I would like to turn it into a .pdf file to archive it before sending it to my friend back in NY.

If I did archive it and .rar it would anyone else be interested in it?

If so - how would I be able to have it "generally available" to all? Is there a place I could send it to that anyone could access or something similar here in enworld?

I would like to make it available both as an "offering" but also to hear people's criticisms and corrections.

Feedback?

If it is "old school" Dragonsfoot would host it for you. Otherwise you probably need to find someone like me with a big expensive website and lots of bandwidth to host it for you. My site doesn't get any gamer traffic so only people you tell about it would have a good chance of finding it, and a definite chance if you give them the web address.

Dragonsfoot, on the other hand, gets gamer traffic and would "advertise" the existance of your adventure on their site.

I don't know of any other site that does this. Except maybe Necromancer. If you send it to them saying you would like them to post it as a free adventure for 20 they would probably do it.

Well ... I must admit that it is really only part one of a projected 7 module idea.

It is called "The Fang of Hool" and it is 3.5 ruleset based adventure in Greyhawk set in the southernmost borders of Keoland (initially) in a tiny village called Lanternrock. There are a whole load of tie-ins from 1eADnD modules - UK1, UK2, UK3 and U1, U2 and U3. There is even reference to RttToEE in there. Long story of course.

I should qualify something though. At present the pages are only HANDWRITTEN (including the maps, but not including the info of some of the npc's, which I scribbled on some old xeroxed character sheets.

The adventure is a "this is how things are 20 years later or so" sorta thing, like the "return to the ..." modules, but rather different in scope.

As for hosting the thing. Dragonsfoot doesn't do 3.5 adventures, as far as I know. It's based on some "old school" themes and mosules, to be sure, but the ruleset is 3.5 ....

I'm not sure if you offered to put the module on your site or not Treebore, but if so I should thank you. It's very generous of you! :) To be honest, I do not expect a whole lot of traffic. I guess if I just posted it on one of the websites I took care of (deep in the tree structure) as a .pdf people could link up to it and then download it when it fully loads in their browser or what not.

What's this about being a freebie in the enWorld store, though? Hows that work?

Very true Steve ... very true. But they have had a nasty habit lately to be shut down suddenly. I'd like something I know will be stable. :)

Phooey.

I am having some bad results scanning my hand written pages. They come out UGLY, hard to read. My hand writing is not bad, but ... bummer.

Anyone know a typist who'll work fast and cheap?

I've had my site for two years now, and have no intention of closing it. I have plenty of space. I've only used about 5% of my capacity, even with all the pictures of rocks.

I have even made a D&D section titled the Ruby Lords that I have done nothing with. so I can host it for you. When you break down and type it out so the rest of the world can be able to read it, do it on notepad or wordpad using the RTF (Rich Text Format).

I assume your maps look grungy because of all the smeared pencil/ink? If so, scan them, and IF you have the simple "paint" program most computers come stock with, open it up into there and use the eraser function to erase all the grunge. If you erase something you shouldn't, find the "undo" function, should be in the edit. Then save over the old file.

When your ready let me know. If your able to do zip files please do, especially of scans.
