Homebrewing a Fighter Subclass for a PC

The changes bring it more in line but it still has both the utility of a battle masters maneuvers - with overall stronger effects - and while it has two less uses it scales vastly better in damage. A single superiority die for the BM gets you at most an additional 1d12. For pure damage one use of your final abilities equals roughly four uses of the superiority dice.

The biggest issue is that this class idea of yours builds on top of the fighter and thus everything has to be taken in account with the fighters features of which action surge and four attacks are the most outstanding. While your effects are comparable to strike attacks of spells, they mostly are only available on half casters that get at max two attacks etc.

My suggestion would be, if you aim for a dude that fights with sword and magic to just reflavor existing material. On the spectrum of martial/magical hybrids it pretty much goes this way:

Martial < - >Magic
Fighter (Eldritch Knight) - Paladin (Any) - Warlock (Hexblade) - Wizard (Bladesinger)

Imho just reflavouring a Vengeance Paladin would cover most aspects I see in that Homebrew.
