Honeymarsh Academy (D&D3.5) Chapter 2

Yarin notices Bahuman moving his feet and looks down to where his own feet are placed to find he has avoided stepping on any larger patches of foliage. He sniffs the air again, trying to seperate the scent of the fey from everything else then catches himself and stops.

Get used to it, you'll be living with this the rest of your life Yarin thinks

"Good morning to you, Vaela."

"Welcome. Young-old one." She smiles, noting the grey streaks in his hair.

Arvin's green cheeks redden with pleasant embarassment. He drop to one knee and returns the formal greeting.
**"You flatter me with your etiquette lady. I would be honored to be considered an ally of one with such graceful manners."**

Arvin looks sideways at Ozzy. His tail twitches in anticipation.
"Exactly what service will we be performing for Vaela, Ozzy? I believe you mentioned something about a helm?"

OOC: ** Still Sylvan

Osbry looks a bit annoyed. He puts away his ocarina.

"That is .. 'Mr. Osbry' to you. Well. Ahem. Yes. I'll get to that once everyone has had a chance to meet with Vaela. She'll want to have a few words about it, I'm sure.."

Vaela gives him an unreadable look. But she soon turns her attention back to greeting.

"Greetings Yarin Koroth".

Yarin gives a practiced elegant bow "I'm afraid I haven't had a chance to learn sidhe customs... how should I address you?" Yarin's every move and word indicates noble or at least rich upbringing. The moment he stops concentrating, however, his eyes begin to dart back and forth, like a hunted animal's eyes would.

*Alek watches Osbry play at the instrument with intrest, delighted to see wisps of nature magic. Just as it becomes evident that someone is listening being drawn in by the music (but before she fully appears) he says under his breath to any other students within earshot*

"Why Osbry, you never told us you had friends in such high places."

*After keenly watching the body language and tone between his instructor and the mound-folk; Aleks expression changes to solemnity with just a hint of sincere awe. Hit tone and expression change to the airy, careful speech used so often in the intrigue wridden courts of his homeland.*

"And may the morning mist rise with you Lady Sidhe(1). I am called Alek."

*Alek offers a practiced and short bow, learned by repitition while he came of age in Sigil. It's curt enough to be a greeting between friends, but deep enough to show a level of respect.*

((1)-a greeting common amnongst the keepers of glades and ponds, this greeting is equally accepted from the most dasterdly of Red Caps, to the shining courts of Morwel herself. Essentially a more culturally sensitive good morning.))

OOC:Alek was attempting to use sense motive when Osbry and Vaela were speaking to each other in sylvan.

Vaela tells Yarin "You may call me Vaela. Please be at ease..."

Vaela returns the formal greeting of Alek.

Alek tries to sense motive when he hears Vaela speak to Osbry.
Alek (+1 Wis) Sense Motive vs. DC 20: 5
(It's impossible to say what is up, but she seems obviously a bit annoyed with Osbry.)

Osbry explains

"I've brought you all out here as an introduction to Lady Vaela. Last year there was an assignment for the graduating class- they were meant to study the Helm of Korin- a valuable relic that belonged to an ancient hero- who also happened to be Vaela's..er.."

"son." Vaela re-arranges herself indian style, hovering above the mushroom. Her image flickers a little.

"Yes. Well, as things turned out, a few of the students were a bit less than honorable about the matter. The helm was stolen. Most of the perpetrators were eventually captured, but they had already sold the item. We even have an idea where it might be. I .. and Lady Vaela .. were hoping you could help recover the helm in time for our normal relic studies course."

"That certainly sounds easy enough," says Bahuman. "And who might the students be? Should we not give them a spanking when we find them?"

Osbry clears his throat. "Ahem. Yes. Well? Most of the students have been caught, except for the two leaders. If they can be brought to justice that would be most helpful. For now, we would settle for the helm returned."

"We're going to need details." Arvin says to Osbry.
"Who are these leaders? What are their abilities? Where can they likely be found?" Arvin's eyes gleam with excitement.
"Most importantly, what does this helm do? Can it be used against us as we seek to recover it? Who has it now? What are their abilities, and where are they likely to be found?"

Arvin realizes he's been rambling, and talking like an over-excited child. He blushes and closes his jaws with an audible snap.
