Hostile Empathic Transfer - too powerful?

If you want to know the truth, in my groups I have never (yes, not even once!) seen anyone use multiple astral constructs.

Ditto for my group. Not a single case of multiple astral constructs.

In fact, I played the only PC who has ever had the astral construct power (out of 4 PC psions) and I used them mostly for assisting my PC with movement (e.g. flight), or to give other PCs a flank bonus, or to shore up the party front line.

ACs make fairly decent cohort level Fighters if you put in the PP for the highest level AC that you can bring in, but they tend to not last long in combat (between the one round per level duration, dispels, and since most allies cannot heal them), so I rarely pulled in the most potent one I could.

And, even if a PC specialized in Astral Constructs and wanted them to fight for him, it could get real pricy real quick. Say an 11th level Psion brought in 3 6th level ACs to fight for him in a given fight. That's 33 PP out of his ~130+ PP or 25% of his power points in a single combat, not including any other powers he used that day or that combat. And at that level, his ACs could get dispelled fairly easily. Sure, he could boost them with Ecto Protection, but that is even more PPs.

All I asked for was a bit of respect in viewing other people's gaming styles and I see that I have not gotten it nor will get it.
You asked for respect?

Please, try to re-read your words, please.

My point is merely to Egres that just because you like how CPsi is written and the things it changes, don't assume that the rest of us have to use it too.

See, this is the very personal attacks and lack of resect that I speak of. You know nothing of my gaming style.

I had Hostile Empathic Transfer with my PsyWar once, and it was pretty cool.
I couldn't use it very often, but I used it to stay alive long enough to survive being slowed and grappled for the slow to wear off so i could get away instead of just getting free and being right next to the creature.
I also used it as an accidental finishing move on an old enemy of our party that had recently come back from the dead. I was down to nearly no hit points, far away from the healer, and the wizard would've died even if he had made the save. (Which I had expected him to do, as my wisdom score was pretty low.) Natural 1 FTW. (for the wizard  )
When the DM let us rebuild our characters to have an optimized party around level 10, I didn't put the offensive heal on my list. I just made myself all hitter and bought ranks in UMD (use psionic device, actually, but we use the transparency rule for everything magic/psionic) for the occasional emergency wand healing if someone needs it.
