Hot Brit Bike?

I have a BSA A65 Thunderbolt, equipped with an Amal concentric carb. Whenever I try to tickle the carb to start, it won't stop spewing gas. I've taken it off and cleaned it a couple of times, replaced the float chamber, and it seems ok for a day or so, then starts giving me problems again. I'm beginning to suspect maybe it's the unholy Texas heat that is giving me problems, like the heat is causing something in the float chamber to expand. Anyone with any experience in this department?

It might be a longshot asking here, but my usual goto guy is unavailable right now. I know there are brit-iron/bsa specific forums, but you tend to get a lot of hot wind and holier than thou attitude in those places. But they''re good for asking role playing vs roll paying questions! :p
