Hotmail - bigger account

I abandoned my hotmail account to SPAM a LOOONG time ago. :)

www.ureach.com was the one I went to, and it's actually pretty good, but I have a gmail account now (thanks to CL!). I have some invites, too, if anyone is interested.

I would be interested in an invite, if you still have any left.

Hotmail had been advertising the growth to 250 MB accounts for months before the actual upgrades started. About the time gmail started, Yahoo increased accounts to 100 MB and Hotmail announced their forthcoming 250 MB accounts. It's what kept me from asking for a gmail invite. I've had my Hotmail account for a long time and it's my primary e-mail account, so I probably won't change away from it unless I have to, as I have way too many things which point there.

Just found mine has been upgraded now. I've had the account since March 2000 and if its alphabetical the name on it is dave<restomitted to avoid spam>@hotmail.com.

Hope everyone else gets theirs soon.

I let my hotmail acct lapse as it was nothing but a festering pool of spam. And it was only created to pull a practical joke on someone..... I'd used it rarely and then kept forgetting to go clean out the crap so it went "bye-bye". Which is fine with me as I only use one of my 5 aohell addys anyways...

It was getting bad for a while but, for the last year or so Hotmail has had very acceptable filtering, IMO. Like I said, almost every site I have registered on points there and I only get a few SPAM messages a day which aren't automatically directed to my junk mail folder. Considering the dozen or more 'good' messages I get there daily, that's a good signal-to-noise ratio in my book. They've done a pretty good job of catching up.

My Yahoo account gets HUGE amounts of SPAM and most of it looks like it comes from sponsors, which is why I rarely check it anymore. Neither of my Netscape accounts gets any SPAM, but then I've never used them for anything other than a mailing list or two. My mail.com account gets occasional job search related SPAM, but that's understandable since that's the only thing I've ever used that account for.

Yes, I'm a webmail junkie.

Well whaddaya know! So THAT'S what happened! I was wondering what kind of weirdness had happened to my Hotmail account--someone sent me a 1 Meg email and it actually made it to me without a warning or anything!

This is cool. 250 meg. I can actually DO stuff with Hotmail now!
