The Perrin changes are pretty unforgiveable, since theybmiss the entire point yhwt the PTSD thwt haunts Perrin throughout the series was the justifiable combat slaying of two enemies trying to kill him and his friends...but that messed him up. Making it about accidentally murdering his wife? So weird.
And just like...the time spent on that could have been spent on stuff that actually happened in the books. Hell, not aging them up, not making Lan and Morraine lovers, not making the Cauthon family completely messed up, etc, would have allowed for
more character development and a
better season 1.
Where the hell did Thom go?
I stopped watching in season 1, so i don't know. But in the books he plays the harp, and his cloak is colorful and patchwork, and he has a long mustache, and he is important and awesome.
I think he’ll return in Tear which is the point he really starts to do stuff. He’s obviously been downgraded as a character. Understandable.
Not understandable at all. Just don't adapt the damn story if you can't do so without ruining characters and also adding weird random crap to the story.
So I equally hated it at first but on second run through I’ve mellowed.
I think they were trying to create the ‘fear of causing harm’ part to Perrin. The savagery losing control that he has to keep in check. Plus it made the Way of the Leaf sections more poweful. I don’t think it was necessary in the long run but I also don’t think it did any harm. Will be interesting to see what they do with the Two Rivers parts as the Wolf Dream really hasn’t been much of a thing up to now.
Completely redundant. That is accomplished just fine in the book, without having him accidentally murder a loved one.
It's also just worse storytelling. It changes the point. Not wanting to give in to violence
even against actual enemies is vastly different than having PSTD from that time you freaked out and accidentally gutted your wife with an axe.
