It's hard to believe that Nans is still around , and still a good gaming store.
...

Does the same guy still own it? He must be old now.
Yep. And he is. ;)

I'm new to the area myself, having moved to Pearland in September from the Boston, MA area.
Hey, welcome. :)

I work up in the FM 1960 area between I-45 and 249
Wow, you must use a lot of gas! ;) That's quite a drive, unless I'm getting my parts of town mixed up.

and there are some hidden gems around there as well. Half Price Books will have a decent book every once and a while
Good tip, actually. I've picked up many books at HPB, eventhough I work in a bookstore and can get a discount there.

There's a store called Bookstop (affliated with Barnes & Noble I believe) on 1960 and Kuykendall which has a decent selection of books.
Owned by Barnes & Noble, actually. I didn't know there was one in that part of town, though. There's another (must be the only other) on Shepherd and ... Richmond, I think, closer to downtown.

Sounds like another marshalling of the Houstonians might be worth trying sometime soon.

I'm glad to see other Houston-area gamers, hopefully I'll get to meet some of you and my crazy schedule will cooperate with me.
Just thought I'd give you more incentive, Theron. ;)
