How about a really "Old School" module?

Do you want an old-school module like this?

  • Sounds like fun... But I wouldn't touch it unless it was free.

Old skool H1 style. I want high level game with high level play. Gimme the bloodstone lands anyday...now that was purely crunchy bits and very little fluff..i'll take that anyday.

And Against the Giants is the best series out there hands down. I'll run that any day of the week as it's more flexible and portable than a can of playdoh...

i paid $4.50 for G1 back in 1980.

i paid $5 for most of the modules i own.

i was ticked when they raised the price to $6.50.

the cover would have to be monochrome.

with an illustration section.

rumor table

pregenerated characters.

a few red herrings.

no names for the lower NPCs. although the DM will need a scratch sheet.

Bring on the old school stuff!!! :)

Make sure to include the Wandering Monster tables (sorry if I'm stating the obvious)

Have a bag of contents where the DM must roll to see what's inside.

Cough it up!

And make sure you introduce a new monster and break some of the game's rules with some of the NPCs to give it that good old dark-roasted, classic flavor.

I built up a classic "derelict ancient evil tomb" adventure for my group, and we had a blast. Until they were almost eaten alive by rats......<cue evil laughter>

Serioulsy though, I'd shell out $3 for a classic feeling module.

the map for the adventure would be on the inside cover.

include a player handout map, letter, tarot card, etc...

don't include tokens or fold outs or perforated squares. they get lost too easily. :(

place the adventure in an area of the world no one has been before.
