How about an ALT-CLASS site............?

I was thinking that a page that just collects alt-classes would be really helpful. Kind of like The Ranger Project web site, but not just for ranger classes. Also that site has not been updated in a long while (I assume from lack of submissions).

You could also put up OGC classes from publishers if any exist.

Of course all writers and publishers would get credit for the creation.

What yall think? I or someone else could whip a webpage really fast and maybe someone could host it?

So does anyone else have a view on this idea? Lord knows a huge amount of alt's are floating around the net and House Rules!

HIJACKED THREAD ALERT!!

Hey, I didn't know about that Ranger Project website. How'd I miss that?

Anyway, does anyone have a favorite of the alt.rangers listed there? Or at least a few that are particularly well done?

Which classes get lots of alts anyway? Rangers would probably be the top one, but I'd bet there are lots of alt.monks as well. Alt.magic-users probably also come with alt.magic.systems, so I don't know if that complicates your idea or not (certainly it seems to) while most other classes are either ignored or not often "alted." Perhaps a list of just plain alt core classes, along the lines of the Soverign Stone Sailor or the Rokugan Courtier makes more sense: classes that aren't really variants of PHB core classes, but entirely new core classes entirely.

Alt Bard used to be populiar, but I haven't seen any in a while. Of the Alt Rangers, few impressed me at all. Most seem like either prestige classess or just a different set of abilities that is as exciting as the original.

Well, that's really what I meant.

I can see alt.bards. Something at all to make the class interesting. But even then, who wants 'em? I'd doubt very many folks care. And with Monte's alt.bard, I doubt any others would fit the concept better.

Personally, my alt.bard is just a rogue with ranks in Profession (bard) and letting them have Perform as a class skill. From there, I modified the WoT Gleeman prestige class to be something they could pick up.

I think this is a great idea. I've got two alternate core classes and a prestige class that I've posted previously on the boards that I'd submit.
