I got really amped about 4e and when it hit it was a big let down for me personally, so I will not let myself get excited about it until I see some print. But the really great part about this is that this time I have three systems of the d20 flavor that my groups already really like (Pathfinder, d20 modern, 3.5) so if 5e does not deliver I am still going to be in a great place gamewise.The release of 4e was different, at first I didn't know how easy it would be to still find good 3.x eras fantasy and modern games locally. As it turned out it was very easy. But I was still unhappy after I tried 4e and realized it wasn't my bag. But the previous edition climate is AWESOME, so this time around I don't have to watch the release with such scrutiny as it does not have as a direct of an impact on my gaming if it comes out of the gate with the suck.That being said, I want 5e to be awesome. I will playtest and offer feedback. I would be lying if I said I didnt have strong doubts about whether or not the system will be something I will end up liking and buying. But the doubts I can live with and they are not judgments. I will keep my eyes open and really take a look at the material before I decide for me an mine about the new edition. I can't say that Monte leaving and some of the other things I have seen thus far fills me with confidence, but I am just going to keep my head up and try and take a look at what if offered for public consumption with an open mind.We will see what is to become in the next few weeks anyways.
