How are you using Ghostwalk?

Well, I've been looking over Ghostwalk for a while now (expect to see review soon at RPG.net) and was wondering how people are using it.

I planned on using the city of Manifest in my SL campaign but that was before that last campaign crashed and burned. Now I don't know what I want to do with it.

It has it's own lands, so you can run the thing as a campaign out of the book.

It has spells, magic items, feats and other goodies that would need minor conversion to 3.5, but otherwise can be run as is, but then you're missing the city and the locations.

I was thinking of using the demi-plane Coil as a major plot advancement in my next campaign but details on it are sketchy.

Others?

For me, I'm just using it for the ghost rules so I don't have to worry as much about killing the PC's in my campaign! :D

This way even if I TPK, the game and the party can continue.

I'm not sure what I want to do with it either. I think for one game I'm a player in, I'll see about using the ghost classes if or when my character bites the dust.

Then Arcana Unearthed came out and I'm wondering about that setting, Ghostwalk sitting beside the bed collecting dust. Actually I just opened it last night and reread the bone collector PrC, so I guess it's not collecting dust yet.

Yes, I will be using the city of Manifest, but with a few changes.

Gods and other divine forces will be burried under the mountain Manifest is built upon. This is what cause humanoid ghosts to stick around and become physical. Those familiar with Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" will notice the gross similarities with his Necropolis Latharge.

I'm not planning to use it as a base setting for a campaign though. Just for the occasional quick story.

I'm using it in conjunction with Midnight.

Really? Interesting.

Could you talk about tweaks necessary to make it fit into Midnight? It could be its own thread but if you make it a new thread just put both Ghostwalk and Midnight in the title so it is easy to find. Thanks.

I've been working on and off on my own setting (which I'm code-naming "Dusk" which, naturally, has nothing to do with the Dusk from around here) and I'm thinking about using the ghost rules with it. I'm not all that interested in Manifest, but I think I might create a city called "Purgatory" that is on the fringe of the land of the dead.

FYI, I'm code-naming it "Dusk" for the time being because the setting doesn't have day and night, it has dusk and night. It's more of a swashbuckling western style inspired by the Bon Jovi song Wanted Dead or Alive.

Sorry to say I don't have it yet. (car payment etc. comes first) where is the city of manifest set in the Scarred Lands? or is it up to the DM to place it?
