easy
We're just doing straight character conversions as per the table below for the party:
* Dwarven Lycanthrope werewolf fighter --> conversion to fighter of same level, lycanthrope rules will be converted if do not exist in 4E OR will just keep using the 3.5E rules since most is very similar and it won't cause major issues
* Half-Orc Barbarian --> will keep with the 3.5E version, but character can redo feats/skills from 4E and ongoing can choose feats from either book if nothing in 4E fits a barbarian well
* Halfling (with ability to allow her to change race to another humanoid race-in tiefling form right now) Rogue/Warlock --> easy enough, straight convert, but this char has many special rules on her already so those will be house ruled and added to the sheet. The warlock though will prob have some houserules based on which source of raw energy they are with (ie. abyssal, hell, elemental tempest, feywild, etc)
* aasimar wildmage (house ruled combination of 2e and 3.5e version) --> wildmage is going to be a whole new rewrite, as per how I think wizards should be...the wildmage is taking part from another d20 sourcebook i saw, some of the 4E concept of a sorceror (but much more extreme and random), and a bunch of new ideas for a TRUE random wildmage
* elven cleric - cleric will be converted to the level but again, spellcasting will be house ruled to a totally new system that I have partially written already...should give even more flexibility and fit with how we view what a cleric should be like
* human swordsage - just keep using 3.5E version, but any power that has terminology that doesn't fit can be house ruled to the closest thing in 4E
* elven wizard - again, massive house rules for how we envision mages working. partially written (not as far along as the wildmage or cleric) but concepts are in place. the level will be converted over but using our spellcasting system instead. Will allow alot more freedom but just trying to make sure it works out and isn't too complicated
* lillendi bard -race will be a convert over...races are easy to do since the same 6 stats are used and minor fluctuations in stats really don't matter much...flying, not a problem..had many flying chars before. Bard will use 3.5E version for now...
The campaign will continue as if nothing happened really. I have some 2e and 3X adventures I want to do that 4E has nullified, but since we still using Planescape, with my own house rules (i dont like great wheel much either, so we use all the planes as interconnected dimensions, but not in a wheel like pattern) so already have incorporated feywild, shadowfell, astral sea, and elemental chaos (far realm we already have used so it's there, as a dimension away from time/space in it's own concept of reality).... Shadowfell is basically a mirror of regular worlds, at a point where the negative energy plane and plane of shadow intersect with it....so i have added rifts that go to -ve energy plane and plane of shadow. Also, have put Manifest (Ghostwalk city) in shadowfell, since it had no real setting of it's own. Finally, Ravenloft mists are prevalent in shadowfell...Ravenloft I still use a demiplane but I don't use all the realms...keep it as it's own miniworld, where u can move around, however, the mists still border the edges and pull stuff in....
Now, just gotta get all the houserules done...
