It's not a terrible difference (ie, twice as thick or so). Paper was never a quarter-centimeter thick Those are 'thin sheets of wood'
Seriously, the Vedas were all in four books, the Bible in one. They were not made out of modern paper, but modern paper is inferior anyway.
