Assemble a continent wide cult of followers, master enough magic, get to 60th level, and maybe get some help from a greater god or two.

By stopping wars and bringing peace to nations that need it and proveing that peace is better then war. THey do in on the large scale and the small scale.

Cool! I just thought of something what if someone who a apostle of peace, wanted to teach the youngster knowledge and peace, instead of violence all over the world! Does that give me anywhere to ascended godhood?

I'd say that influencing an entire generation of people to forsake violence would be cause for godhood.

An alternate route to godhood: by killing the existing god of peace and taking his place.

Of course, it's quite possible there's an inherent flaw in this plan.
