How can I edit or add bookmarks to a PDF document?

Well first of all, you cannot do it just in Acrobat Reader. You need the full version of Adobe Acrobat. Do you have that?

Yeah, I thought that was the issue. No, I don't have it. Is having the full Adobe program (whatever it's called, I jsut have Reader) the only way I can edit the bookmarks?

If you have pagemaker you can import a PDF and add bookmarks. I'm assuming you don't have pagemaker (its rather expensive) so you'll have to go with Acrobat (not reader). Acrobat is also expensive.

But.... if your planning on doing any type of PDF for sale stuff i don't think you can rely on PDF converters. I don't think they create bookmarks either. I could be wrong here (i've never used them) so if anyone can correct me that would be appreciated.

Markers created in Adobe InDesign can become bookmarks automatically.

And agreed, otherwise you'll need the actual Adobe Acrobat application.
