How can you get bonuses on dispel magic?

Does the +2 bonus from spell focus work on dispel magic checks? It's a d20 roll but not a saving throw...

And are there any other feats out there that will improve a caster's chances in dispel magic checks? Thanks.

No, but I've seen it suggested as a house rule.

Dispel Magic uses caster level, so as long as you haven't maxed out your caster level bonus already (+10 for Dispel, +20 for Greater Dispel), an orange ioun stone or a bead of karma will increase your dispel check.

There's a feat in the Kalamar Player's Guide called Antimage that gives a +4 competence bonus to dispel and counterspell checks.

A Red Wizard's or Archmage's Spell Power (3.5 DMG) now boost your caster level, the Guild Wizard of Waterdeep (MoF) gives +2 to all dispel checks and there's a PrC in one Dragon Magazine hat gives the same ability, but as a 5 level PrC; the errataed Spell Signature feat (from Magic of Faerun errata) gives +1 to caster level to a spell / spell level.
Last, but not least, the Wizard of High Sorcery (DLCS), White Robe. Give up the moon stuff (since it was a penalty 1/3 of the time, nothing 1/3 and a bonus the last 1/3 you can easily convince your DM to allow it in a non DL setting as a PrC) and you're ready to counterspell a lot (+5 to counterspell in 10 levels).

Hope it helps

If you're a cleric with the Evil domain, you can take the Corrupt Spell metamagic feat (BoVD) to give any of your spells the Evil descriptor (using a slot one level higher)... so that your Domain power increases their caster level.

Not that I've seen. Unless it specifically states that, dispel magic checks are different from increasing spell DCs.

Church Inquisitioner (DotF) gives you a blanket +4 to all dispel checks.

There is a feat in either FRCS or MoF called Spell Girding that provides a +2 bonus against dispels; no reason why you could not homebrew something to counter that.

My house rule on the subject: In early 3.0, I created a feat (Countermastery) that granted +2 to spellcraft checks and +2 to dispel checks. It has been used by PCs and by a fair number of NPCs. It seems pretty balanced.

Also, Spell Thematics, a feat from MaoF, lets you choose one spell/level to increase your caster level for; the book's errata, available on WOTC's website, contains the feat's full text.

I´ve seen some guys proposed Spell penetration to give a bonus since both is a level check... but I wouldn´t do it since SP already is good enough.

I just created a feat called Spell Ripper. Adds +2 to dispel attempts. I use it for lower level casters to strip players down. It also helps my Mystic Thurge NPC with thier spells.

Also Use Durable Magic which adds +2 to Caster level for your spells to resist dispel. I stole both of them from I think the net book of feats.
