Actually, if one graphs the accelerating edition changes over time, one finds that we are approaching D&D Singularity around the year 2020, a time when editions are changing so fast that to human observers it appears asymptotic.
Some predict this will be the golden age of "perfect" D&D in which characters live forever as realized Platonic ideals; others envision an inhuman dystopia in which a self-aware rules system supplants the DM and runs games at its whim.
