I chose the next to last one (not interested in D&D before 4th edition). I have not played in an organized campaign of D&D for a long time. In fact, I'm not sure that I ever have. I've played and messaged around with D&D since I was about 5 in 1980 or so. I have the 3.0 books and played some when the edition came out, but not on any sort of regular schedule. Then, life got busy around the time that 3.5 came out and I never purchased any of those materials (other than the Ebberon core book). At this point, I haven't played D&D for a number of years. Despite this, I was in the habit of checking this site regularly, but I wasn't really interested in joining a regular 3.x group. From the books that I scanned at my local bookstore, it just seemed like that edition was bogged down in not very useful suplemental materials and had kind of stagnated. I mean how many new prestige class / feat based supplements does a person need. So, I wasn't really excited about it at all. I guess I was interested in the game and the health of the game, but not interested in playing regularly. I would still crack open one of my old books sometimes before bed and read a few paragraphs just for fun. Then, I found out the new edition and I got kind of interested. The more I found out about this edition, the more I realized that serious effort had been put into trying to fix some of the problems with 3.x, plus just generally making it a more fun game. So, now I can say that I am officially stoked about 4th edition. I'm finally ready to play again on a regular basis and I've been counting down the days. So, at least in my situation, 4th edition has, thus far, been a marketing winner on the part of WOTC. Not sure if I'm unique though or if I'm pretty typical. I'm guessing there are a lot of folks like me... kind of lapsed players who just need a nudge to get back into the hobby.
