Top self: Magazines, modules
Middle Self: Harbound book
Bottom Self: Soft Bound books.

Note and characters are keep on the self under the computer desk.

Hmm... three shelves of RPG stuff:

Shelf #1: (from left to right)

AD&D 1E hardcover Books
AD&D 2E hardcover books
The Complete * Handbooks
D&D Basic, Expert and Cyclopedia
D&D 3E hardcover books
D&D 3E DM screen
D&D 3E softcovers
D&D 3E adventures
D20 supplements (malhavoc together, necromancer together)
Dragon magazine (274+)

Shelf #2:

Campaign setting boxes (e.g. Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms 1E, Spelljammer, Maztica)
AD&D 1E & 2E modules, sorted by setting and series.

Shelf #3:
Other RPGs, including Star Wars d20 and d6, GURPS, Amber, etc. Sorted by system, but otherwise not!

Cheers!

I have two shelves that are devoted entirely to D&D of various types--1e, 2e, and 3e. Another shelf on the other side of the room is devoted to anything that isn't D&D... mostly Storyteller stuff, Alternity, Feng Shui, d20 Modern, Spycraft...

The D&D shelves are organized like this...from left to right.

Top shelf:
3e Core Rulebooks
3e Psionics HB
3e Splatbooks
3e FRCS
other 3e FR stuff
then come the old boxes...
revised FR boxset
city of splendors
ruins of undermountain I & II
netheril
ruins of zhentil keep

the rest of the top shelf is adventures from all editions, organized from left to right by level of difficulty.

bottom shelf is older stuff/ storage for my DM binders etc.

1e DMG
1e PHB
1e Deities & Demigods (with Cthulhu)
2e Core + Players Option
TSR 25th anniversary box
Dragon Mountain
return to the tomb of horrors
night below
a miniature version of menzoberanzan
dragonlance fifth age game (with a miniature DL adventures book stuffed inside it)

actually i lied, there is part of a 3rd shelf below these two--it's got those accordian files full of Dragon, Dungeon, and Polyhedron back issues.

On the computer I use Milenix MyInfo to keep track of anything and everything that i have on the computer. (www.milenix.com if i remember correctly)

That's what takes up a lot of space in my room...

Hmm... Digicam is on the blink... So this is my D20 Shelf, 12 feet long. The left side is generally more accessible than the right. All contents are 3e / d20 specific unless otherwise noted.

Left - to - right:

1 sturdy cardboard box, set on it's side. Contained within are all my Dragon magazines, Dungeon Magazines, Gaming Frontiers, Star Wars Gamers. Middle of box is printouts of PDF products (Book of Eldritch Might, all the Ambient Inc. books, etc). Right hand side of said box contains a few old OD&D and 1e boosk that I still reference during games... 1e Lankhmar, Temple of Elemental Evil...

D20 Hardcovers for other games than my house game are next. This is Star Wars d20 and supplements (I only have hardcover supplements for SWd20), Wheel of Time, Sovereign Stone...

[WOODEN DIVIDER]

DND3e Hardcovers.
All Oriental Adventures-style material & Dragonstar material (for my DragonStar / Rokugan campaign).
Hunt Rise of Evil, Blight Magic.
Oathbound.
Remaining hardcovers (other WotC hardcovers, FFG hardcovers, single FFE hardcover...)
Cities & Setting books
AEG One-Word supplements
Quintessential books
Saddle-stitched books & all modules
Other perfect bound supplements
WotC splatbooks
Weird perfect bound books (Darwin's World, other setting specific perfect bound books)
HackMaster books (PHB, DMG, all the monster books, a few modules).

For a librarian, I'm not very into "organizing" my D&D stuff. The limited number of potential users (one) and the relatively small size of the collection (a couple hundred books) and the fact I'm taking a lot of them out and using them and not putting them back makes it kinda pointless. :)

However, what organization I do have goes kinda like this:

Very inaccessible (boxed up, not even in my office): Old AD&D stuff I don't anticipate using any more, probably ever. Sad but true!

Somewhat inaccessable (on shelves in my office but not "handy"): Old AD&D stuff that I might very well refer to sometime in the next few years. Includes boxed sets (Dark Sun, Menzoberranzan, Birthright, Planescape). Also includes "pristine" copies of some works I've been published in (a couple of issues of Dragon) or otherwise want to preserve (a copy of "The Hermit" autographed by Gary Gygax). Also includes older handwritten notes from prior campaigns (before I started using a computer to do stuff).

Accessible but honestly not used much (on a handier shelf): The d20 Stuff I've kept (as opposed to the d20 Stuff I've given away to my players and at Chicago Game Days 1-3). Includes various hardcovers from FFG, some standalone game products, my Alternity books for some reason, other stuff like that. Also in this category are my old Dungeon magazines.

Very accessible (likely to be in a pile right next to my computer) are my core books and the books I'm using in my campaign (FR stuff, psionics book, campaign notes).

Currently under study (in a special location like "Next to Bed" or "Bathroom Library"): Works I'm currently reading or like to pick up and browse through when I'm just hanging out. Usually includes a couple of current issues of Dungeon or Dragon, and various D20 books that I think I might try to incorporate into the current campaign.

Electronic: PDFs, the SRD as saved web pages, and other doodads are on my computer in a special file, with a system all its own...

Shelf 1: 3e Core books followed by misc WOTC harcovers and splats with my binder of web material and pdf printouts.
Shelf 2: Scarred Lands books, followed by other d20 organized by publisher, and Star Wars d20 books
Shelf 3: Fogotten Realms, and Rokugan (includes L5R books)followed by misc adventures and maps
Shelf 4: Exalted, Vampire Revised books
Shelf 5: The WHOLE FREAKING MAGE LINE up to 2001
Shelf 6: main books from a bunch of differnt systems (Amber, MERP, Rolemaster, Champions, Heroes, AMBER)

I keep old boxed sets in the extra closet with the miniatures and warhammer 40k terrain, and I have these four big plastic totes normally used for auto parts that hold all the old edition DnD and the sundry books from other lines. My magazines are in these cool magazine rack you can get for 1.50 at walmart, and I have these two milkcrate hanging foldes filled with old maps, character sheets, game notes, handouts, etc.

Currently, I do not have a shelf. I have a D&D pile. I need to get one for my D&D stuff, though.

However, I have a very organized D&D folder on my computer, full of stuff I've downloaded.

I have folders for D&D accessories, 1e modules, World of Greyhawk stuff, 3e adventures, etc.
