Just curious as to how people use the reviews on this site or if they don't look at them at all or just dip into them?

There are other questions I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to like.

Has a review ever made to buy or not buy a product?

If I'm thinking about buying something, and I'm not quite sure whether I want it, I'll try to find as many reviews as I can. They usually help me determine whether I really want the product or not.

It depends on the product or company. For example, D20 Rokugan is an auto-buy for me, but something like the Monsternomicon, I want to see a few reviews first. Sometimes a products sneak peak may give me second thoughts on a purchase. The Deities and Demigods issue of Dragon (#294) made me wait on that book and the Priests & Pantheons Realms book, because Gods don't have stats in my game and the reviews convinced me not to buy.

On the other hand the reviews for The Kalamar Players Handbook and Everyquest RPG convinced me to buy these books. Too bad I can't get my money back on the second one.

Right now, I will wait on reviews for Book of Vile Darkness & Races of Faerun.

Well in that case I would say you should have ticked the second or third box. D20 Rokugan you arn't really using the reviews.

Personally I rarely read the reviews, but then I rarely spend my money on D20 products except 'must haves', which for me a Judge Dredd and Slaine.

I voted other. I read them on occasion, but don't take too much stock in them as I tend to place my priorities in different areas than the majority of ENWorlders.

That being said there are a few folks like Psion, Joe Kushner, Nightfall,Colonel H. and select few others whose reviews I tend to use as a measuring stick If I'm on the fence..though we don't always agree here on the boards, I "know where they are coming from" so to speak, and it can help guide me one way or another.

I read as many reviews as I can. I consider it a small online hobby, actually.

No, but only because I intend to purchase/be given every product that I can, simply for collection's sake. Good, bad, these ratings don't matter in whether I will own the product -- only whether or not I will use any information from the product.

Call me weird.

I voted "Other".

I use the reviews mostly to find out what is in a product and see if it sounds interesting. It is far easier to that than try to go to all the different publisher sites and read what they say. If what is in a review sounds interesting, then I will see if there is more info on it on the publisher site.

Glad to know I can give you an idea of where to go Jeff. :)

Similar to JeffB, I read the reviews of a number of regular reviewers regularly - they are people whose opinions seem to have coincided with mine enough that they may turn me on to a product I might otherwise have missed entirely or passed over due to a misconception about the product.

If I'm thinking of buying a product, but need a push one way or the other, I read all available reviews. If I have been really waiting for a product, I generally grab it without reading reviews at all, then read them later if I myself am disappointed.

I read all the reviews of the House Reviewers. And then I read reviews of certain products: Ones I'm thinking about buying, and ones that I've just reviewed. I try not to read reviews of books I know I'm going to review till after I review the book.
