How do you use the reviews?

If I'm interested in a product I'll usually check around to see if there are any reviews for it. Really about the only ones I put any stock into are the ones written by Psion, Kushner, the Colonel (not Pladoh, that Hardisson guy ), and Nightfall. Perhaps the reviews ofone or two other people as well, but mainly just those guys.

I voted option 2...

I bought Spycraft because of the positive reviews. I wasn't that impressed with it initially, but the buzz got me and I'm glad it did. I also picked up the Q. Elf, not because of positive or negative reviews but because of what was covered in the reviews. I'll typically only read a review about a product I'm on the fence about.

Occassionly, when I'm really bored I'll browse the reviews section to see what others think of products I already own...

In general, I use the reviews to evaluate products that look interesting, but I have been disappointed by the publisher/author before. If the reviews look promising and the reviewers are good, I will usually go ahead and buy the work.
