D&D 4E "How does 4E change us?" discussion

Matt, if you see anyone else there, can you give them an idea of what's going on here? The General Forums haven't been this interesting, or dominated by a single topic in a long time. Also, there seems to be a lot of threadcrapping (one of my personal pet peeves) and perpetual and repeated harping on how the WotC representatives that have been around have "lied", "mislead", or otherwise been less than honest.

I think it might be good to split the General RPG Discussion Forum so that there's a specified place for 4E rumor where it won't overwhelm the rest of the threads, even when those rumors might end up coming in waves.

I've been the only one with a laptop to be able to keep up on the boards, I'm afraid. (I'm actually on the way home right now.) I've been keeping them informed of what's going on. I think when Kevin and Henry are back home tomorrow, we can can really discuss how to organize the boards.

I think a good start would be to have a separate 4E discussion thread for a few months, but I think Kevin and Russ wanted to see if discussion would quiet down some after the first few days after the announcement. (Given how things have been going, though, I think the BIG wave of discussion is about to come - when all the GenCon attendees return and put in their two cents.) Hopefully that can be done in the next few days; I personally don't think it's going to die down much.

And since you already gave a stickied warning, I think we're justified in giving vacations to those who are really being asses if they poke their heads up again (Razz?).

I'm getting in the car now, but I will check in again when I get home tonight.

Ordinarily I wouldn't have done the stickied warning. It's the combination of volatile subject and most of the moderators gone, really. Good grief, it's been a rough weekend. The new boyfriend is really being patient with me.

I'm extremely jealous of everything I missed this year.

I'm really hoping to hear something from one of the schools that just put out a last-minute call for math teachers for next year. And it's a good school system, so that's pretty heartening. Still, a bunch of districts are starting tomorrow and the week after.

Now I just have to find ways to get the new boyfriend into some form of gaming. Well, he said he likes boardgames and cardgames, so maybe I'll be able to work him into the genre.

Edit: Oh, and Henry, are you going to change your sig or title to "C'mon May"?

My stance on the 4E threads is that, now that they have their own forum, anybody who's threadcrapping has no excuse. They had to click on a DIFFERENT FORUM to go crap in that thread so the swift hand of justice can descend upon them with a clear conscience and smack them off to Banland for 3 days or so.
