Seriously, how does it feel to know the quality of the D&D books the past 2 and a half years, starting with most likely the Planar Handbook, that instead of making material for the sake and love of our 3.5E games, these books have been nothing but us customers secretly playtesting the material they want to try out for 4E?
They've admitted to us as much already. The biggest of their "playtests" book on the list was Tome of Battle. What kind of underhanded crap is this? Here I thought,"Magic of Incarnum, Tome of Battle, Tome of Magic cool! They're taking 3.5E in new directions and I can't wait to see this material supported!" But time passed and nothing was supported.
And now the realization has come when they plainly admitted to us why. Since they started on 4E a little over 2 years ago, we've been doing nothing but buying playtest books. And you expect me to trust you guys with 4E also? Screw that! I won't be duped any longer and neither should the rest of us!
From substitution levels, to alternate class features, to reserve feats, skill tricks, martial adepts, and the Warlock class....all of it was just a slap in our face and was never meant for our 3.5E games. They were meant for them trying to sell 4E to as many of us as possible.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't like a company that treats its customers like monkeys. That's what I feel like now, we're in this cage of addicition to D&D, playing alongside, arguing, and flinging crap at each other and at WotC outside the cage. They throw us a book or two our way into the cage and see how we react all for their stupid experiments in screwing us over in the end.
I'm no monkey or slave to this market anymore. WotC, you've lost so much touch with your loyal and true fanbase, the very people that kept it alive for 30+ years. All for a bunch of snot-nosed kids and warped adults that couldn't fathom the appreciation and traditions for D&D because of their mind-numbing MMORPGs.
It's going to be a long, long wait. I will be here a good year from 4E's official release to see where it's gone. Hopefully into bankruptcy so maybe a better company can gain a better hold on it.
