D&D 4E How easy is GMing 4ed without Monster Builder?

Do you have access to the compendium? Easiest is to just look up monster of target level and role, giving preference to MV and MMIII. There is also the simple formula, that for each level added, +1 to attacks, def, and dmg. (HP is about +8, though +10 to keep it simple is probably ok).

I think the only problem i will have is finding balanced powers for my monsters, but as i noticed, Monster builder wont help me with this ;-).

Find existing monster powers that do what you want, and reflavor. Steal steal steal!
