how far would he go (Charm Monster)?

Also -- a cohesive evil party is based on respect. Respect in the sense of acknowling each others abilities in "solving problems," but also in the sense of "fighting that guy could go either way."

If the tannuruk believes that he could run roughshod over the rest of the party, then there would be no reason for him to hold back; if anything, the battle forced by the Charm spell should be something that was long coming.

What he said.

Don't forget to tell us what you decide and how it goes.
If the guy honestly though he could kill the other party members, I don't see any reason why he wouldn't go for it.

Ok, thanks for the feedback - will have to spoon-feed that to the players (especially the ones who got ripped to pieces ), but appearantly everything looks supported by the rules/within their limts. Thanks a bunch, hehe

What actually happened in-game was that said Tannarukk ( being geared all towards grappling and tearing things appart with his prodigious strength plus natural weaponry while hugging them) pounced on the fresh arrivals, shredded the mage (without even going to grapple, of course this took the last remaining 'dispel magic' to the grave, too ) , shredded the druid next (aided by said druid just having suffered a fun 10 point Str loss from a "ray of enfeeblement" from the backpedalling BBGG and now being severely encumbered ) , then went for the monk/cleric ( the tannarukk not being aware of his "monkishness", thinking him a rogue/cleric and good munching, as he before fought mainly with a spiked chain, unusable in grappling combat) who most surprisingly achieved grappling superiority which enabled the halfling rogue to do some hefty sneak damage (via lost dex-bonus), finally dispatching the tannarukk. Of course, the mage retreated, prepped up and chased the lucky survivors from the building, mission un-accomplished, tails tucked in.

Three dead PCs by basically one spell, mission wrecked. The tannarukk player's obvious glee at ripping his compatriots to pieces did not really help their attitudes towards the "charm monster"-spell and use, too.

:] :] :]

Great story! Sounds like it could have been a TPK. I find that one PC can be dropped now and again and the party might be victorious, but once two are down the odds tilt quickly against them.

How many characters were in the party? Around what level were they?
