When it becomes obvious that the horse is dead and not just resting, that the resulting zombie horse has been killed as well, and the resulting skeleton horse ground into bone dust and scattered to the many winds.

Now if the spirit of the horse comes back as a Lich.......

Plus, you have to deal with the spellcaster who has the means to bring back that horse through arcane or divine magic.
 



My rule for bowing out of threads is if I find myself repeating my point of view on the subject. If I am running in circles with another poster, and I have made a good faith effort to clarify my point, I often just decide to exit before I succumb to the desire to get mean or snarky.

Of course, I do not always succeed.
 


The trick is to realize that they are wrong, and its not worth your energy to save them from how wrong they are.
And also to be aware that, per the topic of this thread, there probably aren't many people still following along once you've gone a few rounds, so not many will even see them get the last word.
