How long has it been in-between tabletop games?

I'm curious to see how long it’s been for some of my fellow ENworlders... Unfortunately not all of us can make it to the weekly game, or monthly game, so honestly how long has it been since you've done any RPG in person with at least one other person?

For me it's been since August 1996... :\ Can anyone beat that? (Would anyone want to be that..? )

Anyhow: no poll on this as it just seems like the answers would be to hard to group like that.

If you do play regularly: What was the longest you went?

Note: the table was an expression you don't really need one for the game.

I play the first time in 83 at least twice a month till 95 stopped when I met my wife. I just started playing 10 months ago about once a month and I love it. I am actually playing with my wife, my sister her boyfriend and her brother an law and another friend. Hope to get my son hooked in about 7 years (he is only 1 1/2 )

I started playing around 84 and have played (actually DMed) the same group of people since then, almost continuously at a rate of about 2 or 3 times a month now. We haven't paused for more than a month or two during all that time, and have tried a lot of different games.

Although we had our ups and downs, it seems like this may keep going on for a looong time yet, since our games are as good as ever (3rd edition has really rejuvenated our game) !

1996-2000 because I moved to Florida and found it to be non-gamer friendly for awhile, Since 2000, I've had 3 groups that have disintegrated for various reasons. I'm working on Group 4, but we are slowly spiraling downwards. Damn real life!!!

Where in Florida? I'll agree, in Florida, it's gamer unfriendly. No good support network. What part are you in?

It's been since about mid February since I have played.
The longest I went without gaming was 1992-1999 just didnt have a group.

Actually, it might have been last year now that I think about it.

Due to jobs, and family mostly. It makes running a campaign a little hard since it becomes a mad scramble to have to remember what I have written when the next session comes up after so much time off.

My last true table top gam was last August. I play nearly every week online in two separate chat games. I haven't found a game on Cal Poly's campus or near by, so I've just stuck with my online games.

Last session was this past Sunday, 5/16 and next session is Sunday, 5/30. We play every other Sunday for about five hours.

Longest period without gaming since I started in 1979 was between 1985 and 1988. Been gaming at least semi-regularly ever since.

Its been about a year for me.

Our long time group (about 10 years) finally fell apart as the distance between players and real life obligations just became too much of an obstacle to continue. I have looked for local gamers in the area but this is a severly gaming depressed area it would appear (also so says our single gaming shop). The few contacts I have made are a little too Game-nazi for me (you must be here every Saturday from Noon to 11pm, miss more than 2 days a year and you're out) and that just doesnt fit into most people's lives. /sigh
