I don't know what everyone means by 'not enough'. I have enough 4 sets of dice (ten each) and extra d6's so that I can cast spells with my high level characters and do damage. Total, maybe 50 or 60 dice. What do you need more for?

Sounds like someone's never played earthdawn, WhiteWolf or Shadowrun before. A highly developed combat character in those games could end up throwing scadloads of dice each round and to make the game faster most of us start rolling our next action in advance, usually with another player helping with the math. While WW and SR required lots of a given die type, ED was the worst at needing whole sets. When fully prepped one guy needed to roll at *least* 4 full tubes of dice each round; more if a special ability fired off.

Man, I miss that game. :)

One of the players in my group has a set of the metal dice and while I gotta admit they are pretty cool...... you gotta watch where you leave them. A week in my buddies car in January left them pretty much unusable for a bit, at least without gloves on. ;)

You could just about see the air chiiling around them, it gave a whole new meaning to frosted dice.....

Heh, I'll keep that in mind. I like them a bit more them than the stone dice and I'd imagine a little more durable. I won't keep them in my car or on the floor. That'd be one hell of a caltrop! :p

Pieces of Sh...Stuff.

my hat of the d02 WotC minis knows no limits.

There are way too many PoS programs that manage to combine both meanings...

The Auld Grump, who has a good sized shoebox filled with old dice.

I had some of those d4 caltrops long ago. I miss them so! I figure I've lost at least 30 dice over the years. I've probably got around 100 dice, including some gold and silver plated, some "bone" shaped dice, some spherical d6s that are fun to roll, and some of those tiny little stone dice. I probably have 40 or so d6s, many of which are tiiiny, so I need more of the rest! I only have 5 d4s... I keep losing them... I'm horrible!

Kevin's got way more uniques...
As the only person in the world who is recognised by Guinness to adjudicate dice records, I would like to point out that there are a whole bunch of rules governing what counts towards the total. So diaglo is quite right, the raw total number of dice is not the only factor. If it were, there are several people who own dice-making factories (for example) who could claim the record.

Kevin Cook is currently the person with the largest collection that meets all the criteria.

Yo, Diaglo! I'd encourage you to take an official count of your dice. Kevin Cook also has around 14k dice and, last time I checked, was trying to get into the Guiness Book of World Records for possessing the world's largest dice collection. We wouldn't want his claim to be false, now, would we? :-)

Do keep in mind that you have to cull duplicates ... I have over 20000 with duplicates ... if dice come in sets .. you can count them (ie poker dice have 5 dice) etc

I have a 2 gallon pickle jar full.... my guess is that is about 200-250. Never counted them and the number is always changing due to losses or recoveries.
