How many hours a year do you play?

DM every Sunday at roughly 4 hours each session taking holidays and other off weeks into account = roughly 190 hours

Play every other week at roughly 6 hours each session taking holidays and other off weeks into account = roughly 156 hours

Gen-con every year, roughly 8 sessions at roughly 4 hours = roughly 32 hours

That’s 378 hours a year...roughly. Of course this doesn't include time spent on City of Heroes...but I'm afraid if I total that up I'd just weep in the face of my geeky-ness.

If you move down from Gainesville (Go Gators!) to Lake Wales, we can get a new (hopefully weekly) group and game much more frequently.

I'd love to game more often, but with young kids and a full-time job, the light at the end of my tunnel is far away at the moment...

Nowehere near enough here. Actual play time might amount to 4 full days a year. Writing and designing my homebrews may amount to 20 days a year. Hopefully that will change in the near future, though.

OK - I think I have enough to consider categories for a poll. What do you think of the following choice categories -

0 Zero
up to 20 hours
21 - 60 hours
61 - 100 hours
101-150 hours
151-210 hours
211-280 hours
281-400 hours
401-550 hours
550+ hours

Comments and suggestions welcome!

Hmm.. D&D? maybe a maximum of 20 hours a year.

So far this year, I've played roughly 8 hours.

Now, if you include other systems, I've played/run around 80 hours this year. Now, I didn't have a group for most of this year, so it is an atypical year.

The current group gets together oncer per week for a 12 hour session, sometimes it has to be two 6 hours sessions in a week. So about 650 hours per year, we've been together for about 2.5 years.

I've found a group to play with only a few months ago, but the average session is 7-8 hours and we play once a week usually. Of course I'm going to move somewhere else for university soon, so ... well, if I'm allowed to study both subjects I want at once, I predict a steep decline in gaming. If I'm not allowed to do that, I predict my amount of gaming to change to 'alot more' :p

Call it 6 hour sessions once a month. That's what, about 72 hours? In short, not much. And I seriously doubt that my group will ever game again after August, since 3 out of the 5 are moving about 1800 miles away.
