How many players do you play with???

We started out with four players, then added another one, meaning at any given time, we have four PCs and one DM. We can each focus on one PC instead of having to double up for our tougher adventures.

My wheel of time group has about 8 people plus me (the DM), but only three or four ever show up at a time. They all suck. Need a new group. It's hard to keep a continuous story line when the characters waffle in and out of adventures randomly.

My group consists of 4 people. So far two of us have DMed but another player wants to try her hand at it. This makes for a good party. 3 PCs and one NPC to balance out whatever is needed. I've DMed bigger groups in Jr. High and High School and later in College. Most modules for AD&D were for larger groups. Now the average party is assumed to be about 4 people.

Our group has seven total players including the DM. Truth be told, though, most sessions occur with one or two absentees of late. I was happier with a solid group of five and limited no-shows.

My group currently has 5-6 players. I have DMed for groups as large as 12 for over a year in the past.

Big groups are the same as small groups you just have to be more rigid about maintining order. Combat can take forever when people aren't ready when their turn comes. I had a rule that irf you weren't ready when your turn came (if you are not sure what to do you must declare a delay) you will be assumed to delay to the END of the round (i.e. after EVERYTHING else has gone).

The game also bogs down with a large group when players aren't familiar with the rules or with their own characters.

We are like a match of what were separate groups of players... which resulted in a mixed groups of all sorts... but in general we agree that games with more than 6 (DM + 5 Players) are hard to handle.

Just 1!!

Actually, I kinda like it w/just one player and me(the GM).

The one player in my campaign has an account on these boards. Her "name" is saFire. She only posts very occassionally, however...

Y'see, there aren't that many gaming groups in RI...
