I think there is also a good sized percentage of gamers that couldn't recognize a poorly written product by their favorite publisher. Then there are those that just can't recongnize a poorly written product period.

Hate to say it Mark, but 10,9,7,5 and 4 sound interesting. Better luck next time.

That's the point, innit? As they say, 95% of everything produced is crap...

...that someone will buy. ;)

But were you the puppy or the master?

The puppy. Was the master of the next. And then learned that life (and relationships) are much much better when there's no leash involved.

Unless, your that kind of person. :)

Well, we'll just have to see... :)

Oh. I thought you were issuing a challenge, like a contest for publishers. I really got to learn to read beyond the subject lines of these threads. :(

;)

Mark,
That made me laugh. It made me laugh a lot.

Thanks!

Regardless of how this poll turns out, in the larger world of non-ENnie connected gamers, the answer is apparently, "An infinite number. As a consumer, I live to be shafted."

Psion, I really like your take on gambling theory on this issue. Very interesting.

I want a t-shirt that says, "I'm a consumer. I live to be shafted."

I voted "2". I'm not sure if that's actually true, but in theory I'd give any company one boo-boo before becoming super cautious about their products. But it all depends on prior track record. One of the d20 success stories, with hit after hit, suddenly isn't doing the trick for me (I've ended up with about 4 products that I just didn't dig). Yet I still think they will put out good products in the future.

And sometimes being aware of the author (as opposed to the publisher) helps me predict quality.

Hehe. It would be interesting to know whether it's the same one I'm thinking of ;).
