The revisit was first mentioned last year along side the new settings NONE MtG settings and then was said on Twitter that it was for 2024 (the same year as 5.5e core books, very doubtful that is an accident, Forgotten Realms gets some kind of setting book every major/minor edition change since it came out). Forgotten Realms = Revisited Setting. 1. By then there will be metric ton of usable MtG art for the Forgotten Realms. 2. The Way of the Drow Drizzt trilogy will be over so no fear that it will spoil the trilogy before its over, the new Campaign book can cover the events that transpire. 3. BG3 will be full released 4. The 5.5e Core Books will be released and tradition is to release a new FR campaign book with each major/minor edition. 5. No book in 5e gets more complaints then the SCAG,no one complains about the other setting books (except those who don't like Eberron's cosmology being merged in to the Great Wheel and that ship sales with Witchlight). So that leaves FR needing a revisit. 6. FR fans have been badging WotC for years now for info on the rest of the Forgotten Realms, heck even just rest of Faerun! 7. There are host of events have occurred that need updating in an FR campaign book and major changes to monster races they want to make eventually.
