Most are an indealized version of me, usually maximizing one or two of my (personality) qualities, usually in a positive light.

So, most of my characters end up being thoughful, steadfast, self-assured, friendly, and humble. I, on the other hand, am too-smart-for-my-own-good, stubborn, overconfident, and quick to rationalize.

Now, physically, my characters are also (usually) a sort of idealized version of me...

Most of my characters are tall, brawny, fair-skinned, and bearded...I'm tall, bulky, 'gets sunburned when it's cloudy' pale, and just plain hairy.

I think each of my characters exhibits traits of myself that make them quite a bit like me. I wouldn't say that any one character I've ever played is "ME!", but all of them have certain traits that I have that make them a part of who I am.

I think I work out around the 60% range. I've had a few characters that were very different from myself, but all of them except one I found were very hard to play consistently. I just find it easier to be consistent with a character's personality if it has some basis that is similar to my own.

Generally...around 20% to 50% me. Somewhere in there.

However, my favorite character, and one of the main characters in my Story Hour, is pretty much 98% me. Its fun to look back at the Story Hour as I write it...as I can pinpoint almost exactly what was happening in my life when that part of the game was occurring.

Most are quite different from me, but I must be really bad at creating characters because no matter what some signifigant aspect of them ends up just like me (usually morals).

I answered 0%. I always DM, and the characters are the evil NPCs bent on world domination and slaying anyone or anything that stands in their way, or are monsters whose very life is an affront to the gods. Therefore, I feel that I am nothing like the characters I portray, though I am sure my PCs would disagree :) .

Ah.

Well, in that case, 90%.
