How much cheaper is printing in China?

Wow. That sucks for the employees of North American bookprinting companies. :(

And here I am wanting cheaper books.

You're not the only one I assure you.

It went from USA to Canda to China. Soon we'll be printing on the moon with cycles between releases to correspond to NASA launch dates. ;)

Urgh, leaving the writers screaming (as most of us get paid at the end of the quarter a book is released).

As someone else said above, it really depends on the print run, paper, etc. you are going for. I believe the larger the print run, the greater the benefit in going overseas. I honestly think that shipping costs might increase quite a bit this summer and drive some business back. This does depend a little bit on printers here quoting more competitive prices. Some still will for small print runs, others simply don't care about you if you want small runs. Few RPGs would be considered "large" print runs (not talking about WotC, of course).

Some of the new printers in China and Malaysia have the very latest equipment and are just starting out so they are giving better prices to "regular" customers that contract to print more than one book with them. If you are checking into pricing overseas, check into the possibility of a discount like that (if you are going to have enough books to print).
