Hmm. I find the dip in the $60 to $80 range interesting. With only 104 respondants so far, it could just be a statistical variation. Wonder what it might imply is it isn't...

i usually buy maybe one book every 2 months, and a subscription to dragon... i dont really spend that much being a highschooler and only getting an allouance when i do my chores really well... but its enough. I'd spend more if i had the money, but right now i polled myself in at $0-10. I figure its 3 bucks for dragon(subscribed), 7 bucks(per month) for a book every now and then...

Here's an example of what I typically buy. This is my April / May order. And keep in mind, it's not complete, as I'm considering what else to add. (Probably more KoK adventures, a few KoK supplements, and some other stuff from other publishers.)

Affinity Games
Windhaven campaign book

Fantasy Flight Games
Spells & Spellcraft

Fiery Dragon
Queen of Lies

Green Ronin
Freeport: City of Adventure
Armies of the Abyss

Mongoose Publishing
Quint. Rogue
Quint. Cleric
Quint. Wizard

Necromancer
Rappan Athak 3

Privateer Press
Monsternomicon
Guide to Iron Kingdoms

Thunderhead
Bluffside

WOTC
Lord of the Iron Fortress
Bastion of Lost Souls
Deities and Demigods
Faiths and Pantheons
Dragon magazine, #293 on up
Dungeon magazine, #91 on up
Masters of the Wild

On average, I'm guessing I'm spending about $150 - 180 per month. Of course, I buy primarily from TalonComics, so (what with the lack of sales tax, whew!, and the fact that if you spend more than $150, you get free shipping in the U.S.) I'm saving about 21% over buying non-discount locally. Otherwise, my list wouldn't be so long.

[edit: had to format the list] [edit: dang it, you CAN'T paste a formatted list]

bump.
I'm in the less than $10 range, since as a working professional it's very hard to play enough that would make the info in those purchases wothwhile or used enough. :(

I think the only stuff I've got that's in the 'I have but may never use' category is some 3e Forgotten Realms books, and that's likely to grow. I'm not playing in the Realms, and didn't play in them prior to 3e, but I ended up getting an FRCS from someone who had 4, and I was really impressed with it. Which led to picking up Magic of Faerun, getting Lords of Darkness for a birthday present, and having Faiths and Pantheons pre-ordered.

Everything else I own, I expect to get at least some use out of in my current gaming.

Im in the $41-$50 bracket, but thats because Im a whore for Mongoose Publishing and KenzerCo and have to own everything they put out. LOL.

I guess I'm in the 40-50$ range. That's an average though but it seems to be pretty common around the board.
