It's ambient light, so it doesn't have a range.

There are three lighting levels: Light, Shadowy, Dark. I'd say both moonlight and starlight are shadowy, just because the other two do not accurately describe.

It would be shadowy illumination until I either get tired of rolling all those concealment miss chances, or forget about them.

The basic problem with a campfire is that how much light you get isn't well determined - it depends on how big a fire you build. A full-fledged bonfire will brightly light a wide area, while a single log may be less bright than a torch.
